Ladd Marsh Birdathon

May 14-16, 2010. The Birdathon at the Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area - near La Grande, Oregon - is a non-competitive birding opportunity for the whole family and is free of charge. Experienced birders will be at several birding stations to offer assistance and information to the public about birds and bird watching. Early morning area guided field tours are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday for a $5 fee.

The event is scheduled at the height of spring migration and nesting in the Grande Ronde Valley. Few, if any, places in Union County, Oregon have a more diverse bird population than at Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area. Over 200 species of birds either visit or live permanently at Ladd Marsh.

COST: Free ($5.00 fee for the early morning guided field tours)
